Florence Benoit-Guyod obtained her Doctorate in Pharmacy (University of Grenoble, France) in 1989, and specialised in the field of industrial pharmacy (IPIL, Industrial Pharmacy Institute, Lyon, France) which she followed with positions in the pharmaceutical industry, such as quality control manager and production manager.
Then, after studying at the High School of Public Health (EHESP Rennes, France) she joined the French Civil Service as a Pharmacist Inspector in Public Health. During the next 10 years, she worked as medicinal products GMP inspector at the French competent authority (currently named ANSM). She has been deputy head of the "Chemical medicines inspection unit" during 3 years.
Then during the next 3 years, she gained experience in a regional Inspectorate (DRASS Alsace, France) in the area of hospital pharmacies and sterilisation units, pharmacies, biological laboratories, medicines wholesalers, cosmetics manufacturers.
She also worked as an external expert for WHO and EDQM, performing overseas inspections of drug and substance manufacturers, as well as assessment of sterile substances dossiers.
Since 2007, she joined EDQM Division of Certification of Substances as a GMP inspector. Since 2011, she is the head of the inspection section. She is in charge of supervising and performing inspections of pharmaceutical substance manufacturers, mainly in Asia.
